Shaped from earth and transformed by fire, terracotta is one of Bangladesh’s oldest living crafts. From temple reliefs to everyday pottery, it has long bridged the sacred and the domestic. Across Kushtia, Dinajpur, Patuakhali, and Bogura, artisans hand-mould clay, sun-dry it, and kiln-fire each piece, allowing form to emerge through touch and tradition. Inherently sustainable, pottery relies on natural materials, biodegradable outputs, and minimal energy. Aarong champions this craft with the country’s largest pottery wall at Dhanmondi Flagship Store called “Santal Gaon” and a wide product line, making sure a new generation discovers, celebrates, and connects with Bengal’s rich terracotta heritage.
