Tamara Hasan Abed

Managing Director
BRAC Enterprises

Tamara Hasan Abed is the managing director of BRAC Enterprises. She has been heading BRAC's 11 social enterprises including Aarong, BRAC Dairy, and BRAC Seed and Agro Enterprise. She also currently serves as the chairperson of BRAC University Board of Trustees and BRAC Services Limited in addition to serving as a member on several corporate boards. Ms. Abed brings with her extensive experience in investment banking, entrepreneurship, and social enterprises, with a career spanning over two decades, across diverse sectors.

Mr. Khajuria leads the design studio comprising of designers, draftspersons, pattern masters and production coordinators. He ensures the rich craft heritage of Bangladesh is blended with global trends to stay relevant for today’s consumers. Rajesh Khajuria holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Jammu, India. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Knitwear Design and Technology from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, India.

Mr. Husain drives our retail operations for all lifestyle brands and cafe, and is responsible for increasing its footprint and enhancing customer experience. He leads our 1,500+ person sales team across the country. Mr. Husain holds an MBA in Retail from AU, India and did his Masters in Sociology from LU, India. He also holds certifications from ISB, India and MIT, USA.

Mr. Karmakar drives the enterprise’s financial strategy to deliver sustainable growth and ensures that our surpluses are reinvested into BRAC’s non-profit development programmes. He works with our producers to ensure they have access to working capital to continue to sustain their livelihood and craft. Mr. Karmakar holds an MBA in Accounting from Dhaka University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).

Sundararaj Karumeni

Mr. Karumeni, a textile and garment technologist, oversees our quality control and assurance operations across our 100+ product lines. He ensures our products meet customer expectations and works with our producers to ensure their materials, inputs and finishing align with our benchmarks. Mr. Karumeni is a total quality management/ISO 9000 & QS 9000 certified professional.

Johan Ahmed

Mr. Ahmed drives people and organisational development. He is responsible for talent acquisition and management, learning and development, employee well-being and organisational effectiveness. He champions gender mainstreaming and promotes safeguarding practices at all levels of the organisation. He holds an MBA from North South University.

Nafisa Tasnim

Senior Manager, Marketing

With over 9 years of experience in the brand marketing sector, Nafisa has established herself as a skilled brand manager with a diverse background. Her career began in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry gaining expertise in brand management, portfolio management, and leadership. Seeking new challenges and learning opportunities, Nafisa shifted her career to the fashion retail industry. As the TAAGA, TAAGA MAN and Aarong Earth brand team leader, Nafisa oversees planning, campaign and event execution, and consumer-facing communication. 'Teamwork is the key. I make sure the wellbeing of my team members so all of us enjoy what we do, add value, and contribute to our highest capacity', says Nafisa while talking about her team. Nafisa graduated with Cum Laude distinction from North South University and has been working with Aarong since 2019.

Mashiat Faria Noor Hridita

Senior Manager, Recruitment & Employer Branding, Human Resources

Mashiat joined Aarong as the talent acquisition and employer branding lead and has been responsible for creating potential candidate pipelines to meet our human resource requirements. She started her career at a multinational organisation and worked across 8 different industries, nationally and internationally, during her tenure. “It is amazing to be a part of a brand that actively pursuits to give back to society on every level and has an infrastructure that supports and partners with more than 68,000 artisans, majority of whom are women,” added Mashiat. Mashiat has a degree in Business Administration from the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).

Md. Fazlul Karim

Manager, Production Coordination Design

Fazlul began his career with Aarong at our outlets as a part-time associate while he was a student. Today he works at our head office leading the production coordination team of the design department. He ensures planning and execution of the entire production plan and monitor it’s on time delivery. He is responsible for coordinating with diverse stakeholders to ensure production targets are met. "I love the working culture at Aarong where employees are acknowledged, appreciated, and rewarded for their performances" Fazlul mentioned. He holds an MBA in Apparel Merchandising from BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology, Bangladesh and has been working with Aarong since August 2011.
